The US and Anchor Bay 2-disc, the UK BFI The Werner Herzog Collection releases have both versions of the film with anamorphic transfers and extras.
*GENERAL NOTES:
- The movie was effectively shot twice: once with actors speaking English and once with them speaking German, although some actors were dubbed for the German dialogue due to too strong accents.
- Compared to the German version, the English/International version was originally cut by about 10 minutes for its theatrical run in the UK and US but a restored uncut English version has since become available on DVD and Blu-ray.
- A comparison between the two versions is available on Movie Censorship.
