GENERAL NOTES:
That there are two versions of the film:
- 1984 original Japanese theatrical version (104 minutes) which served as the basis for the original "The Return of Gozilla" English export version;
- 1985 US theatrical version which re-edits the film with additional scenes directed by R.J. Kizer featuring Raymond Burr and partially rescored by Christopher Young (87 minutes). Although the Japanese original was mixed in Dolby Stereo and the American credits feature a Dolby Stereo logo, the editorial changes were so extensive that the American post-production discovered they could not use the combined stereo music and effects track and had to make use of a separate three-channel magnetic tape that had separate mono music and effects. -
CUTS:
- Blu-ray ALL America- Kraken Releasing - No cuts. Original Japanese version (103:58).
