Looking forward to this. It's a pretty good film, as I recall.

The DVD a watched years ago was a total garbage. The BR looks very promising.

Yeah only the French DVD was decent (with original 2.35 aspect ratio and proper color grading, which was supposed to be as "flashy" and "colorful" as the 4/3 VHS & DVD releases)

Jerry,

I haven't watched this. Out of a scale of 10, what's your rating? I know there are only few good Lundgren movies.

And where can we purchase this online? Which website is selling this?

It's one you're either love or hate but to me it's one of his best, maybe 7/10.

A lot of fans also rate it among its best films, like MEN OF WAR and so on. It's also one of Russell Mulcahy's best films and more in the vein of his earlier works like RAZORBACK, in the way of its metaphysical, eerie yet gritty atmosphere... it's a one kind of an almost abstract symbolic action film, so it's not all for all tastes but it's got the mandatory action and bloody violence as well.

It's not available for pre-order yet, this companies releases are on Amazon.de but I don't know about this one since Amazon have a strict policy about FSK-18 films so will see... if not it'll sure be on Medienversand and DTM Shop.

If fans give it a 7, I'll consider buying this.

To me, there are only few Lundgren's films that are good: MEN OF WAR being the best, MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, THE PUNISHER and RED SCORPION.

Others like DARK ANGEL, HIDDEN ASSASSIN (aka THE SHOOTER), PENTATHLON and JOSHUA TREE are average.

Demonstration of Super35 mm (used here because cheaper than real anamorphic, which Mulcahy ultimately regretted since most video releases were pan & scanned), from open matte to intended 2.35:1 aspect ratio:

The disc is region B locked but you can access the main feature/menu via title selection during the region mismatch screen... 8)
