Brotherhood of the Wolf - Region A Shout FactoryUPDATED

Post by Oliver_Wicks »

It should be noted that the Shout Factory release of "Brotherhood of the Wolf" includes an entirely new and highly controversial Subtitle track which is riddled with typos, grammar issues, factual errors, inaudible lines, missing info etc. it's rumoured that Studio Canal refused to let Shout Factory have access to the original Subtitle files created for the European DVD/BD Releases of the film so someone, somewhere decided it would be a good idea to hastily create a brand new set for this release but didn't bother to do any Q/A on them.

PS: I'd also like to point out the German version isn't English friendly at all so whilst it is the overall Winner, it's not much use if you don't understand German or French. If people want a 100% English friendly release with good subtitles for both the film and extras, their options are limited to the non-German Region B releases :(.

Are there plans to fix them?

Though we are an English language site, we don't determine winners by their English accessibility. It's easy to see in our specs which ones are English friendly or not.

AFAIK, Shout Factory haven't acknowledged or even recognised the issues so no, there won't be a replacement program - which sucks, because I was looking forward to this :(.
